The Thomas Hardye School

Thomas Hardye Election - 4th December 2019

The winner is:

Anna Lewis
Green Party

Election Winner

Congratulations to her and to all candidates for a well fought campaign.

Wow what a time to be a politics teacher! The politics department wanted to use the 2019 election as a way to engage students with the process of voting and increase their understanding of the political parties, so we decided to run a THS election.

We allowed students to represent any of the political parties that currently exist within the UK and we got an exceptionally diverse range of political views. We had candidates from The Conservative Party (William Bishop 11PC), The Liberal Democrat Party (Michael Young 13CB), The Labour Party (Samuel Wilkinson 10LO), The Communist Party (Cecilia Kaas 12JC) and The Green Party (Anna Lewis 9EV).  Each of the candidates working diligently on their election campaign producing a video clip and posters with their manifesto policies on and every tutor group from year 9-13 took part in the election.

After lots of counting it became clear there was one political party that stood head and shoulders above the rest.  Winning a phenomenal 33 tutor groups and with over 500 votes Anna Lewis from The Green Party.  We would like to congratulate all the candidates for their hard work and dedication.
