Waitrose support our Food Technology Students

Food Tech

Year 12 food technology  students recently had a  visit by two meat experts from Waitrose Dorchester, to talk about the different sections of an animal carcass and  how to tenderise the tougher cuts of meat. The students were asked to cook medallions of pork with a honey, mustard and rosemary glaze, which they then ate with enthusiasm, followed by a feathered steak which had been marinated overnight, with red wine and garlic.

Meat and fish specialists, Claire and Maria,  kindly donated all the meat for the event, which some students had never tried before, making it a very worthwhile experience for everyone.  We all had a very high protein breakfast that day!
