The Thomas Hardye School

Year 10/12 Spanish Exchange

Spanish Exchange

On the 5th November, students studying Spanish in years 10 and 12 spent a week in Murcia on the first leg of the Spanish exchange with our partner school, the Instituto Mariano Baquero.

They had a full programme of activities organised for the week in Spain. During the week, they attended lessons and discovered the city of Murcia, including a visit to the city’s historic cathedral and town hall. The students also visited the ancient Roman Theatre in nearby Cartagena, before enjoying a boat trip around the harbour, explaining the evolution of the port. They also spent an afternoon in Alicante, where the students visited the historic 16th- century castle and fortress of Santa Bárbara.

The second leg of the exchange is at the end of February and we are busy making sure we can provide our hosts with a similar experience.

Until then, ¡hasta luego!
